TOUGHSCREEN gasket-less Touchscreen
The harsh environments in which our computers operate can destroy normal touchscreens- but not ours. The oprator never actually touches our touchscreen! They are covered with a clear Mylar overlay that is sealed without gaskets. This overlay CAN BE REMOVED WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE THE TOUCHSCREEN. Altogether, this system offers the perfect operator actuation force pressure even with gloves on. Another advantage occurs in the unlikely event of a shattered touchscreen. Any shards are held in place and prevented from contaminating your product.
ONE MOTHERBOARD – ANY PROCESSOR!
In another Sigma exclusive, all of our washdown computers use the SAME MOTHERBOARD! It is completely “future proof” and perfect for the Windows 7 era. More ports than you could ever use (8ea. USB, 5 ea. RS232), up to 4 GB RAM, 1033 MHz FSB, 4 SATA, all-digital video, CF slot, and extended heat capability (60 deg C). But more important than that is the fact that you can use almost ANY Intel Processor! From the affordable Core Duo Celeron to the powerful Core 2 Duo and the Quad Core Extreme (up to 3.06 GHz.) Don’t buy OUTDATED TECHNOLOGY! Sigma computers are completely state-of-the-art and expandable for the future.
REMOVABLE BOX-IN-BOX.
Maintenance has never been easier.
Typically our computers are securely mounted to tables, stands, or walls. In the case of a malfunction, it can be difficult to take the entire computer down and disconnect all cables. We have solved this problem once and for all, using our exclusive box-in-box design. The outer enclosure stays mounted while the internal “box” Without tools, can be unplugged and removed. Our internal “box in box” contains the motherboard, hard drive(s), power supply, and processor – the components where the bulk of typical problems can arise. Simply replace the entire box with a new one. You can choose to repair the components or send it to us. This results in no downtime and minimal service cost.
“RAIN CHANNEL” seal.
All of our enclosures utililize a “rain channel” seal to block and channel water away from the inside of the enclosure. This works perfectly during harsh washdowns and ensures long life in the worst conditions.
SIGMA EXCLUSIVE WASHDOWN KEYPAD CHOICES.
We are the only manufacturer that offers 3 different gasketless keypad choices. They are all sealed for washdown with long-life key actuations. In addition to the standard keys, two of our keypads have the windows F13-F22 keys that your programmers can use as “soft’ keys. All models also have larger 0-9 keypads that can be used with gloves. In addition, our keypads are on a DIFFERENT circuit from our touchscreens, so if one goes out the other will still keep functioning to ensure no downtime. You can still use an external keyboard of any kind along with our washdown keypads.
HIGH HEAT? NO-PROBLEM.
All of our enclosures are completely sealed stainless steel. The operating temperatures are in the 80-85 deg F range. However, if your application calls for a higher ambient heat condition because the computer is near an oven or fryer, we offer an external IP67 rated power supply. Moving the power supply outside the box allows our computers to function in temperature ranges of 105-110 deg F. This is perfect for bakeries that tend to be much warmer than meat plants. All connections to this power supply are, of course, IP67 washdown.
CUSTOM MADE LASER CUT CONNECTOR PLATE.
Our laser cut and sealed plates are CUSTOM BUILT to your EXACT washdown connector needs. No extra connectors to cap- unless you want it that way! The custom connector plate includes sealed ON/Off switches, quick-disconnect power, and any brand or style of connector you wish. All fit with laser-cut precision.
DIFFERENT ENCLOSURE CHOICES.
Most of our computers come in either lockable-latched or lockable-keyed enclosures. This means no screws to get lost in your food or packages. Both options are equally well-sealed and perform up to NEMA 4 X standards. We also offer one model that is bolted together if your application calls for it. Again, your application, your needs- only Sigma offers this many choices.
LONG LIFECYCLE COMPONENTS.
Our larger customers demand standardization. And with this in mind, we offer a 3-year, EXACT SAME parts replacement guarantee for ALL components. But we go further than that: our motherboards have a 7-year life and are not due to be replaced until 2016! Touchscreens will be available for 7-10 years.
